FROM STORAGE TO SUSTAINABLE DESIGN : CONTAINER ARCHITECTURE

container architecture

There’s a lot you can use our mobile storage containers for. One thing you may not have realized, though, is that storage containers are also great building blocks. To test out this idea, we actually did it ourselves.

Our Little Rock office was designed to incorporate repurposed shipping containers. This ended up being cost-effective, environmentally friendly and helped our office stand out. Designed by Hugg & Hall Mobile Storage president, Jim Hugg, the design was actually recognized by the American Institute of Architects at their Arkansas conference design competition.

Using a series of steel structural systems and concrete foundations, you can strategically place repurposed shipping containers to form the walls and rooms of your office, shop or home.

We’re not the only ones catching on to this new and exciting type of architecture. Recently, we had a hand in the creation of the new Whole Foods in Little Rock and The Root Cafe using repurposed storage containers!

Storage container architecture has actually seeped its way into residential architecture, sparking a worldwide trend. It makes sense since storage containers are both durable and easily modified.
